Chocolate Revel Bars

In a large mixing bowl cream until light and fluffy:

1 cup butter

2 cups brown sugar

Add and mix well:

2 eggs

2 tsp of vanilla

Sift together and mix in:

2 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

Stir in:

3 cups oats (not instant or large flake)

Set aside.

In a medium saucepan over low heat melt:

1 can condensed milk

12 oz chocolate chips

2 tbsp butter

1 tsp salt

Stir until smooth and then remove from heat and add :

2 tsp vanilla

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Mix well.

In a parchment paper lined cookie sheet (or greased lightly) pat 1/2 to 2/3 of oatmeal batter into the pan,spreading evenly to the edges. Pour chocolate mixture over this and spread evenly. With remaining dough, take small clumps and dot the chocolate layer randomly.

Bake at 350F for 25-30 mins until lightly brown at edges. Cool completely and cut into bars. These freeze well.
