Cream until light and fluffy:
3/4 c. butter, softened
3/4c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. white sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp water
2 tsp vanilla
Combine in a small bowl and add to creamed mixture:
3/4 c flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
Mix until well blended.
Stir in:
3 c. large flake oats
1 1/2 c. chocolate chips (I sometimes replace 1/2c. of the chips with 1/2 c. chopped nuts)
Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
Bake at 350F until edges are golden brown, approx. 12-15 minutes. Don’t overbake.
Raisins and/or dried cranberries can replace the chocolate chips in the same quantity.
ENJOY!
